HISTORY OF DREAMS comprises an exhibition of images with
titles taken from Shelley’s “PROMETHEUS UNBOUND” which was published, with other poems in 1820 as a lyrical drama in four acts.
PERCY BYSSHE SHELLEY(1792-1822) unbound the Greek Prometheus myth as a triumph of the imagination over reason.
That a digital artist links with an earlier form of romanticism suggests that the notion of beauty is still strong in currency and that digital art can serve as a contemporary form of poetry, honoring the imagination.
These images are, like Shelley’s work, both bound and unbound, with an effect which reconnects in the individual …the stuff that dreams are made of…
The hunt for the title binds the work. It maps a world of mystery, beyond interpretation.
